After seeing a handful of swatches of Urban Decay’s Vice, I thought it looked a lot like Chanel’s Taboo. They are similar but not dupes. I would describe Vice as a muted version of Taboo. Taboo is a deeper color and more blue. Also, the sparkle in Taboo is much more intense. And there’s the difference in price…Taboo is $27 and Vice is $15. So if you are not wanting to part with $30 for Taboo, go for Vice at half price. Vice is a gorgeous dark purple with plenty of shimmer. It is a very pigmented and has a smooth formula. Below are Taboo and Vice using one coat.
Another Deborah Lippmann comparison. Today is Ulta’s Pink-Her-Bell and Deborah Lippmann’s Some Enchanted Evening. Both are a clear base with pink glitter. Pink-Her-Bell has micro and small light pink glitter. It’s glitter is dense and has a gritty texture. Some Enchanted Evening is more chunky with small and large hexagonal light pink glitter.
Today I will be showing you two pale beauties. One is Revlon’s Whimsical and the other is Deborah Lippmann’s Glitter in the Air. Both are sheer, light blue creams with tiny, small, and medium hexagonal glitter in blue and pink. Glitter in the Air is whiter than Whimsical. As far as the glitter, it seems like Whimsical has more in it. Since both are extremely sheer, I would suggest layering it over a light blue if you want it to appear like it does in the bottle.
In the picture below: Whimsical on the left and Glitter in the Air on the right. Both are two coats.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Time to compare Urban Outfitter’s Sea Dust and Deborah Lippmann’s Mermaid’s Dream. Both are pale seafoam green with teal micro glitter and blue hexagonal glitter pieces. But here come the differences… MD has more seafoam pigment to the base, SD has a more clear base. MD has some small gold and teal glitter, SD has small silver glitter. SD also has larger hexagonal holographic glitter, but most of them all have sunk to the bottom. I prefer Mermaid’s Dream, but since I already have Sea Dust and they are so close in person, I don’t really see the point in buying both.
So I posted that Ulta has Deborah Lippmann now. I decided to try some of the polishes on because they had testers. As I put on Supermodel I realized it looked very familiar. So I didn’t wipe off the polish so I could compare it to a color I had at home: OPI Big Hair…Big Nails. Well it’s a match, an exact match. See photo below.
Can you tell which is which??
Supermodel is on the left and Big Hair is on the right. So I guess I’m taking Supermodel off my wishlist. 😉
